{"id":135,"date":"2015-07-01T10:20:29","date_gmt":"2015-07-01T08:20:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gruenholz.info\/V2\/?page_id=135"},"modified":"2015-10-05T17:14:27","modified_gmt":"2015-10-05T15:14:27","slug":"green-woodworking","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gruenholz.info\/?page_id=135","title":{"rendered":"Green Woodworking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Having first trained as a timberframer<\/strong> and then as a woodcarver in Northern Germany, I discovered the joys of greenwoodworking in Britain in the late nineties, and it quickly became a passion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gruenholz.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Bild_greenwoodwork_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-138 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/gruenholz.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Bild_greenwoodwork_1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"L1190486\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gruenholz.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Bild_greenwoodwork_1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/gruenholz.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Bild_greenwoodwork_1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gruenholz.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Bild_greenwoodwork_1-184x184.jpg 184w, https:\/\/gruenholz.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Bild_greenwoodwork_1.jpg 638w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><strong>Amongst others I learned<\/strong> the secrets of the trade from Mike Abbott, Hugh Roberts and Robin Wood.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Together with my British wife Katy<\/strong>, a skilled woodcarver and chairmaker herself, we live and work in Nieperfitz, a small village at the edge of G\u00f6hrde forest, a large and beautiful ancient woodland that used to be the hunting ground of the Hanoverian kings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There we run our workshop<\/strong>, the Atelier Geh\u00f6lz &amp; Gestalt in a converted barn.\u00a0 We keep a good stable of shaving horses and pole-lathes, regularly giving courses in greenwoodwork and chairmaking.
